Select Reject Reconfigure (2014)
'Select Reject Reconfigure' (2014) was a solo exhibition at The Gallery @ Idea Store Whitechapel, London, UK. The exhibition consisted of a series of drawings that originated from a 30-minute piece of direct address to camera. In these drawings, I explored how the linguistic and technological editing processes related and depended on each other, and I teased out the philosophical ramifications of this process. I was also interested in how the speech of direct address to camera was transformed through digital recording and the subsequent digital editing processes – where the making of the drawings required the speech to be returned back to an analogue product, once the digital drawing was printed onto paper.
